Disney had an epic year in 2021. After winning an Academy Award with Soul and celebrating the rich beauty of Latinx and Asian heritage with Encanto and Raya and the Last Dragon, the movie studio is back with another top-notch roster of grade-A new Disney movies in 2022. Now, more than halfway into the new year, and it's clear Disney isn't letting up. Massive hits like Turning Red and Lightyear prove there are big things in store. The Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild

Everyone's favorite prehistoric mammals are back. The Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild follows Ellie and her thrill-seeking younger brothers Crash and Eddie as they search for a place to call home. Buck Wild, a dinosaur-hunting weasel, comes to the sibling's rescue when they're trapped in a massive underground cave, and together, they embark on a journey to face dinosaurs who've inhabited the Lost World.

Mufasa: The Lion King

Disney is slated to tell the tale of the late Lion King, Mufasa, in the upcoming prequel Mufasa: The Lion King. Directed by Barry Jenkins, Mufasa's life story will be told through the flashbacks of Lion King characters Rafiki, Timon, and Pumbaa.
